Letter from Solicitor General Elizabeth Murrill to Governor Edwards, LDH RE: Myocarditis & Pericdarditis Risk from COVID-19 Vaccines

Updated: 7/29/2022. See the last note at the end.

Elizabeth Baker Murrill, Solicitor General of the Office of the Attorney General in Louisiana wrote a letter to Louisiana Governor John Bell Edwards and the Louisiana Department of Health stating concerns regarding myocarditis and pericarditis in young adults and teens who received the second dose of Pfizer or Moderns COVID-19 vaccines. In her statement, she gives her own personal experience with myocarditis, noting that her 17-year-old son was hospitalized with the condition only two days after receiving his second dose of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine.

On June 19, 2021, the Louisiana Department of Health produced a video titled, “COVID-19 Vaccines & Children: What you need to know.” This video was published the day before the CDC’s originally planned Vaccine Safety Committee meeting regarding the myocarditis and pericarditis problems and COVID-19 vaccines.

The Solicitor General stated, “LDH provided a whole hour of grossly misleading propaganda with potentially deadly misinformation promoted by doctors, including Dr. Kanter, which completely undermines informed consent.”

She also makes the following points:

She sums up all of her points and sources with the following: “Your and LDH’s misguided effort to promote the unnecessary vaccination of children and young adults in the face of a clear and present danger to their health and safety is irresponsible and could cause children to die. For health care professionals, this is gross medical malpractice. And it certainly undermines the informed consent that is necessary for parents and young adults to evaluate their own risks. “

In closing, she asked that the Louisiana Department of Health removes the “grossly misleading and dangerous video” from its YouTube channel and website.

Update: The Louisiana Department of Health never removed the video “COVID-19 Vaccines & Children: What you need to know.” It is still viewable by the public.
